If the operators skin touches the cutting blades while pushing the button an Electronic signal over rides the hydraulic pump in 1/5th of a second,and instantly springs opens the cutting blades for 6 seconds or until operator is clear. As we all know,Horses instinct and training have taught them to resist from pressure. With manual nippers there is movement with holding the hoof and squeezing them closed. In this time is where in my experience is when some times horses move. A little or a lot. I have used this Hydraulic Hoof Nipper for 3 years now. 2 years in the current design. I hold the hoof most of the time with one hand. and place the inside blade in side the hoof wall .The outer blade over hoof. Once in place my hands don't move much at all until after the cut has happen. In Those brief seconds is the time when this tool has made the biggest difference in not giving the horse a reason to pull away.The only movement is the closing of the jaws through the hoof wall with no sound from the tool.
